In-home Newborn Session

Notes from the photographer, Shallyse of Fresh Poppy Photography: There's so much to love about this in-home lifestyle newborn session! The bassinet and sweet little outfit have been in the family for generations - the bassinet actually made it's way across the country to the family's home via Greyhound bus! Great-grandma made the teddy bear in the bassinet by hand! Mama and daddy both have matching tattoos that combine their last name with their love of the gorgeous Colorado mountains! They had the tattoo printed on a onesie so that little man could match his parents in some of his newborn portraits. The lighting in both the master bedroom and the nursery was an absolute dream! The lighting and home decor allowed me to use simple receiving blankets to really keep the focus of the images on the baby, and also gave me the chance to incorporate some simple props for a few posed newborn portraits, as well. The decor in the nursery was so sweet! I loved the hand-painted dresser, and the navy blue paint on the walls was such a fun, unexpected pop of color for a baby's room - it paired perfectly with the white crib and furniture!
