Q & A with the couple
How did you meet?
Winter of 2012 Brittany and I were working together at a gym in Loveland, Colorado. Our short good mornings to each other quickly turned into a friendship. We began to spend all our time together whether it was eating lunch together, attending Brittanys indoor soccer games or watching movies. We both quickly realized this was much more than a friendship. On February 22, 2013 Brittany had asked Becca to be her girlfriend.
What is your proposal story?
Fast forward our relationship to March 25,2018 we had moved to Arizona and back to Colorado. I remember waking up the morning of our engagement and Brittany having my entire outfit picked out. She asked me to get ready and said she was taking me to breakfast at our favorite spot in Fort Collins . After breakfast we went back home and she asked me to go out to the backyard with her. We walked out back to the firepit where we spent a lot of our time together and it was decorated so beautiful with candles, rose petals, and my favorite champagne. I then assumed what was happening and before she even started talking I was crying and then she asked me to spend forever with her.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
Our wedding vision was put together in 3 weeks due to rescheduling our originally venue one month prior to our wedding date. Rules had changed with Covid-19 and it was important to us to have as "normal" of a day as possible. We had a small ceremony with our immediate family and closest friends. The style I wanted was just romantic. Our floral was alot of greenery with white flowers and hints of navy blue and gold accents.
Tell us about your attire choices.
Our dresses complemented eachother so well and we never saw eachothers dresses prior to our wedding. I went in wanting ANYTHING but lace and ended up in a full lace wedding gown that I fell in love with. I fell in love with my dress from Encore Bridal because I felt so confident and comfortable in it. Brittany said she fell in love with her dress from Dora Grace Bridal because she felt sexy. Her dress was fully lace but our lace patterns were complexly different.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
Our splurge was good food, florals and amazing photos to remember the day. We ended up skipping on a videographer because as much as we would love a video of our day to look back on we just couldn't see ourselves watching it over and over again. Our photos are displayed in our home everyday and we absolutely adore them.
What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)
Our favorite part of our wedding day was our first look. We were both so nervous that the second we saw each other all the nerves went away. We both cried and our mothers were standing a ways away watching the whole moment. It was so special and really let us enjoy the rest of the day together.
Tell us about your wedding flowers.
We had three long farm tables with greenery and white floral all down the center, touches of gold and navy acrylic place settings for each guest. Our bouquets for our wedding day were white long stem garden roses.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Be patient and know in these times that things can change at any moment. No matter what happens make the best of the day because truly all that matters is that you are together.
