Q & A with the Bride and Groom, Haley and Tony:
Q: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
A: Bride and groom are Colorado natives and wanted a true Colorado mountain wedding. The venue was a gorgeous ranch with spectacular views and an old barn with rich wood colors. The venue was romantic and elegant which ultimately was the overall theme we were hoping for. The color palette was dark navy, bright coral and gold.
Q: Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
A: The ceremony was outdoors under a white gazebo and everyone was surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains. The only decor added were hanging mason jars with flowers on the chair aisles. The reception was inside an old barn and we wanted an elegant feeling so each table had navy table cloths, a wood block table number, a flower arrangement, along with coral colored napkins to add a pop of color. Also incorporated were large white lanterns with gold accents. We brought an old piece of furniture which we painted an aqua blue and used as the gift table. Also, the bride's sister hand made a large wood guest board which now hangs in our house and is a fun reminder of our wedding day!
Q: What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
A: The bride loves flowers! The very talented florist was able to listen to what the bride envisioned and the flower arrangements came out beautifully. There was a bridal bouquet and each of the bridesmaids bouquets which offered brightly colored flowers. The groom and groomsmen's wore succulent boutonnires twisted in twine to make it a bit more masculine. The ceremony had hanging mason jars with flowers on the chair aisles. The cocktail hour and reception had flower arrangements on the tables.
Q: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
A: Italian food, the bride and groom's favorite. The desserts were all made by the mother of the bride and the bride's aunts. Lastly, dancing and celebrating with all of our family and friends.
Q: Let's talk fashion. How did you choose your wedding day look? How did the groom? Describe both looks in detail.
A: Groom and groomsmen wore dark navy suits along with bow ties for a more formal look. Wedding dress had whimsical waterfall ruffles, an elegant belt embellishment and simple straps along the shoulders. Bride wore dangling gold earrings and sparkly gold heels to tie into the gold theme. Bridesmaid's wore classy, coral lace dresses which added pops of color.
Q: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A: We are high school sweethearts! We grew up less than a mile away from one another but didn't meet until we were in high school. We started dating our Junior year of high school ( on September 4th) then we decided to attend the same college. After 8 years of dating, he finally proposed on top of a mountain at sunset. We then married on September 4th, exactly 9 years from the day we began dating. We can't wait to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and our 10 years together on the same day! We both truly believe we are soul mates.
Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A: The moment the groom saw the bride for the first time, which was walking down the aisle.
Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?
A: Be willing to make compromises. Don't sweat the small stuff. Make sure you have a day of coordinator! Ask the caterer to save the Bride and Groom a plate of food and dessert to enjoy after the wedding is over.
