Q & A with the bride and groom:
How did you meet?
Joseph and I met on the dating app "Hinge", which matches you based on mutual friends. Upon finding out we had over 100 mutual friends, we learned that we both attended St. Louis University for undergrad but somehow had never met.
What is your proposal story?
One of our favorite weekend activities is to get coffee at a local cafe and go for a morning walk around our neighborhood. It was on one of our morning coffee walks that Joseph proposed. We were walking down our favorite block in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago and admiring the fall decorations at some of the houses. It was then that Joseph got down on one knee and proposed. He hired a photographer to photograph the proposal as well as pictures in the neighborhood after. After taking pictures, we joined family for a celebratory brunch at one of our favorite local restaurants.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
I had visited Telluride with my family a few times and it became my favorite place on earth. Joseph and I attended the Blues and Brews fest one fall and he fell in love with Telluride too. During that trip, we had dinner at Allreds one evening and couldn’t believe the beautiful views. In planning a COVID wedding we knew we wanted to make it extra special, so why not in our favorite place?!
We wanted the decor to be tasteful but not overdone. We asked for seasonal flowers with plenty of greenery. Our color theme matched Colorado in peak fall with yellow/gold tones. Our wedding planners, Telluride Unveiled, and all of our vendors went above and beyond and made everything beautiful.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
The most important thing to us was our location as it speaks for itself! We were so well taken care of by our planners and vendors that we honestly didn’t need to worry about any tough decisions, as we knew that we wanted to treat out guests (that we were so thankful were willing to travel to celebrate with us)!
What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)
In truth, the entire day was our favorite. In spite of a few brief showers (right when our ceremony was scheduled), the weather was incredible, the venues were perfect, and all of the decor, dining, music, and beyond was precisely how we pictured it. Telluride truly is a special place, in large part because of the great people there, and we’ll never tire of reminding ourselves of the day.
