She especially love capturing emotions in more candid photographs during wedding days, especially the laughter and the tears. And all of her wedding couples receive high-resolution digital files with printing rights! When and why did you start your business? I have always loved photography, majoring in studio arts with a focus on photography while in college. I photographed several weddings over the years while holding various job, and finally made it my career in 2011. I love it. I love the technical aspects of photography, the artistic aspects of it. I love working with couples and other wedding vendors to celebrate love. How did you learn your craft? I studied photography while in college, but that was mainly film and art. I taught myself most of the technical aspects of photography using all sorts of resources like photography books and blogs, and a lot of trial and error. Improving my skills is very important to me. I want to become a better photographer for both myself and my clients. I participate in seminars, mentorships, and classes whenever I have a chance. Describe your photography style and approach to weddings. I want wedding images to be timeless. To me, this means authentic, vibrant colors and natural skin tones. Although I believe wedding portraits are important (and I especially love me sunset photos of wedding couples), I especially enjoy photographing those candid moments that I mentioned earlier. This means capturing both the wedding action and the reactions to the action. This is where a lot of the deeper emotions seem to come into play. I am so laid back and just go with it on wedding days. I work with my clients or their wedding planners or venue coordinators to put together a photography timeline that is my map of the wedding day, but after that, everything just happens and I roll with it. I think being calm and laid-back is great for couples who are nervous or even super excited. I also try to be as non-obtrusive as possible. This isnt my day; I am just lucky enough to be there. What or who inspires you? Instagram definitely inspires me these days. As for photographers, theres Fer Juaristi. How he sees thingswow! Favorite Wedding location. I love the Lyons Farmette in Lyons, Colorado. Everything about the venue is perfectthe flowers, the Air Stream, the river, the staff. Being there makes me relaxed and energized at the same time. And every single spot is beautiful for photography. Favorite Wedding Trend. I love floral crowns. I wish I could wear one everyday. Advice for a couple planning a Colorado Wedding. There is only one regret that I have for my own wedding, and that was that I didnt hire a planner or day of coordinator. I enjoyed every aspect of the day, but it definitely would have been worth it to help eliminate the stress of all those little details. Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Colorado? I am from Annapolis, Maryland. I love oceans, but the mountains were calling.
